Angel of Edgewood, Inc. will host their 5th Annual Pre-Thanksgiving Community Breakfast on Wednesday, November 26th.
At this event, Angel of Edgewood's volunteers along with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, and Special Guest Emcee Jim Altman of FOX61, will gather to serve a hearty breakfast alongside community leaders. Whether you’d like to stay and chat or take your food to go, we’re here to help you start the Thanksgiving holiday week with warmth, gratitude, and community spirit. This breakfast not only provides a free hot meal to families who may otherwise go without, but it also serves as a unique opportunity to foster unity and mutual understanding. We firmly believe that building connections with citizens from diverse backgrounds is crucial in sparking positive and lasting change throughout our communities and state!
We are seeking volunteers to assist in: unloading supplies from trucks; setting up venue; greeters in the parking garage; outdoor greeters directing foot traffic; greeters in the main event space; bus monitors riding with community members; bus coordination support; photography and general event documentation; food runners (supporting the buffet area); cleaning and reset support throughout the event; final breakdown and cleanup. Your participation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Volunteers are asked to arrive no later than 7:30 AM and be prepared for TSA-style security screening to assist with setup so the meal service begins promptly at 9:00am. While breakfast will conclude at 11:30 AM, we will have slots for volunteers until 1:30 PM to assist with clean-up and breakdown. Dress comfortably and be prepared for both indoor and outdoor roles ‒ layers are recommended. And wear your Yale gear, if possible!
*ONLY ADULT volunteers during set up hours 7:30am - 9:00am; YOUTH volunteers are welcome to join after set up at 9:00am.
