September 2025
Dear Yale Alumni, Family and Friends of Greater Hartford and Northern Connecticut,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford, welcome to our club, which is now celebrating its 140th year.
Please support the club’s activities and events by becoming a paid member for only $17.01 (free for recent Yale grads - classes of 2021 or later), and adding a contribution in support of our summer internships and other programs. You may mail a check with the membership slip linked here or pay through our website at www.yaleclubhartford.org.
We are planning a wide range of interesting indoor and outdoor events for the fall. Watch for updates on upcoming events through our emails and website, www.yaleclubhartford.org. Please add hartford.yale.club@gmail.com to your address list or safe email addresses.
Some events we are planning this year include:
September 25, an Autumn get-together at Tavern in the Square in West Hartford
October 9, an All-Ivy outing at Hops on the Hill Brewery in South Glastonbury
November 22, to meet at the Yale-Harvard football game
During Thanksgiving week, distributing meals to those in need
January 23 or 24, 2026, CT Ice Tournament at Ingalls Rink
Our Feb Club Emeritus gathering in the month of February 2026
In March and April, 2026, a series of speakers
In May 2026, annual Celebrate Service events
May 13, 2026, our annual meeting and dinner
June – August, 2026, Summer Internship Program
For these and other events, please watch for our emails and visit our website. As one of the oldest Yale clubs in the country, we pursue four main goals:
To provide opportunities to gather for stimulating academic and social events. Our previous events have included our popular post-election panel discussion, sponsoring singing groups, group tours of local sites, and outings to Yale sports events;
To facilitate the admission of deserving young women and men to Yale College through our Alumni Schools Committee;
To acknowledge and reward the achievements of young members of our community. We plan to continue to award summer internships to Yale College students, and to provide Yale Book Awards for exceptional high school juniors; and
To support our local community by sponsoring volunteer and service events, including Yale Day of Service events.
To help support our programs such as summer internships and speakers, we appreciate additional contributions. Even better, we hope you can volunteer to help with alumni interviews of high school applicants, and with planning and attending our events.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely yours,
Eric Fleischmann ‘83, President
