President’s Letter

Dear Yale Alumni, Family and Friends of Greater Hartford and Northern Connecticut,

Thank you for being part of our Yale alumni community in Greater Hartford and Northern Connecticut!

We have an exciting year ahead planned for the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford!  The Board of Directors and I hope you choose to once again support our club’s activities and events by becoming a paid member for only $17.01 (free for recent Yale grads from classes of 2022 or later), and by adding a voluntary contribution in support of our summer internships and other programs. Mail your check with the enclosed membership slip or pay through our website at www.yaleclubhartford.org

Our plans for 2026-27 include a vibrant series of events starting this fall, giving our community many opportunities to visit some of the most treasured venues in our region, to enjoy some of our state’s most scenic places, and of course, to spend time with both friends and with those we might come to know from both our Yale and peer school communities.  We are enclosing a summary of our event plans along with this letter, and we will share full details of all events via e-mail, so please add info@yaleclubhartford.org to your address list so we can reach you.

Beyond events, supporting our club is a uniquely meaningful way to “pay it forward” for those who follow us, both as fellow Yalies and as fellow Connecticut residents.  We provide scholarships for our current Greater Hartford Yale students, book awards for our region’s most deserving high school students, interviews for our Connecticut Yale applicants, and we fund summer fellowships for Yale undergrads who themselves want to make a difference for our region.  With both your dues giving and voluntary contributions ‒ all of which are carefully stewarded for maximum impact ‒ you help us do the very best we can in support of Yale, in support of our Connecticut Yalies, and in support of our shared Yale home state.  And whether as an interviewer, an event co-organizer, or by joining us at one of our service events, we welcome you to volunteer in the work we do, too!

When our club started more than 140 years ago, our founders envisioned something that would stand as “a good thing for Hartford and for Yale.”  And today, it is hard to find a distinctly Connecticut treasure that has not been created by or caretaken by our fellow Yale alumni, or by those from our nearest peer schools.  As a club, we look forward to striving to find new ways to support one another within our Connecticut Yale and peer communities so that we may renew this force for good in Yale’s home state for generations to come.
