Please join the Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford for its Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 5:30 - 8:30 pm. The event will be held at the Hartford Golf Club (134 Norwood Road, West Hartford).
Our guest speakers will be Alexandra Daum, Associate Vice President for New Haven Partnerships and Development at Yale and Former Commissioner of the CT Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), and Alex Kleiner ‘08, Partner at Rubicon Technology Partners, and board member of several New Haven nonprofits, including New Haven Reads, Leila Day Nurseries, and the Foote School. Together, Alexandra and Alex will speak with us about “What’s New in New Haven”!
In addition to our guest speakers, we will also welcome recently-admitted students to our Annual Meeting, and will be recognizing some of our deserving current Yale students from Northern CT with this year’s C. Gilbert Shepard Award. The Annual Meeting will include the President’s report, election of the Board of Directors, and the Club’s slate of officers. Additionally, a jazz trio led by members of the nationally-recognized Hall High School Concert Jazz Band will help set the atmosphere for us.

Speaker Bios:
Alexandra Daum serves as Yale University’s Associate Vice President for New Haven Partnerships and Development. In this role, she oversees all Yale on-campus housing and Yale's commercial real estate portfolio including the University’s retail and restaurant tenants. She also manages Yale’s relationship with the City of New Haven in order to foster local economic development, strengthen neighborhoods and support New Haven public schools. Prior to Yale, Alexandra served as the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for Economic Development for Governor Ned Lamont. In these roles, she drove public investment in economic development projects across Connecticut, including real estate developments, public-private partnerships and urban revitalization efforts. Alexandra earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Alexandra lives in downtown New Haven with her husband Alex Kleiner ’08 and three children.
Alex Kleiner '08 is a Partner at Rubicon Technology Partners, a private equity firm with offices in Boulder, CO, San Francisco, CA, and New Haven, CT. At Rubicon, Alex manages investments in software companies and provides strategic and financial oversight as a member of the Board of Directors of numerous Rubicon-owned businesses. Previously, Alex worked in a similar capacity at Vector Capital in San Francisco, OpenView Venture Partners in Boston, and Merrill Lynch in New York. Alex is a New Haven native and is deeply involved in the local community. He sits on the boards of several local nonprofits, including New Haven Reads, Leila Day Nurseries, and the Foote School, where he is the incoming President of the Board of Trustees. In 2024, Alex opened a boutique toy store, Pebbles Toys & Gifts, in New Haven. Pebbles has been named Best Toy Store in Connecticut in both of its first two years since opening. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. Alex lives in downtown New Haven with his wife Alexandra Daum and three children.
